The Land of Stories: A Grimm Warning by Chris Colfer

The Land of Stories is back! After The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell (2012) and The Land of Stories: The Enchantress Returns (2013), Alex and Conner Bailey’s adventure didn’t stop there. After defeating Ezmia, the Enchantress, Alex and Conner lived separately. Alex stayed in the Land of Stories and was trained to be a fairy and the next Fairy Godmother while Conner returned to the Otherworld to continue his normal life.

The Fairy Godmother a.k.a their grandmother had closed the portal between the Land of Stories and the Otherworld for the sake of the two dimensions. Although Alex and Conner didn’t want to be separated permanently, they knew it was for the best of the both worlds. To cure their longing, the twins were equipped with a magic mirror for each of them to communicate. The mirror connected the two dimensions and they would talk all night long, telling each other current updates. However, still, not being around for each other physically ached them both.

On the other hand, in the Otherworld, Conner got a chance to have a trip to Germany to hear the Brothers Grimm’s 3 unrevealed stories that had been saved for 200 years. In accordance to their wish, the story should not have been opened for 200 years, and Conner was one of the witnesses to hear the stories for the very first time, who happened to be held in the Brothers’ graveyards. However, Conner knew that one of the stories was not a real story, it was a warning in disguise.

Accompanied by his classmate, Bree, Conner took an adventure across Europe to solve the mystery with only a little hints. Would the clues bring Conner and Alex together? If so, did the reunion occur in a happy occasion as they expected?

Find the answers in the Land of Stories: A Grimm Warning! I always like they way Colfer writes. The story flows naturally. The plot always surprises me with delightful and yet painful twists. And ooh the ending! I really want to know what happens next. I hope the fourth book will be published soon. I really can’t wait any longer.
